    Defeats and sorrows

    Welcome to my Lair

    Defeats and sorrow

My computer crashed, it got a virus which wiped out my storage on my computer. It took me two weeks to get my wedding off the computer and get what I had on a DVD. As a videographer I hate giving clients bad cuts of there wedding but under these circumstances it's the best I can do. It sucks it really truly sucks. So I can only man up and dust my pants and go on.

    Picture of the day

Because of the computer crash i am writing to you on my phone tonight. Plus I'm  in Nashville so theres no way of me working on my computer anyway.I don't have a way to continue editing my pictures so until i get my computer fixed i will be taking pictures with my phone. This picture comes from Nashville as I was going to dinner. I call this shot beauty of the eyes of the beholder
I really enjoy this rock and great metaphor of how I feel right now. A challenge that awaits me. So enjoy and I will see you soon.

    life's hidden gems

    Welcome to my Lair

    Hidden gems

My son and I went to play at the playground in our neighborhood. We played for a while and then we decided to go for a walk. Now there is a little walkway and from the walkway you can see a creek. Now my son decided to go off the beaten path and actually go down to the creek. He wanted to throw rocks and I just wanted to watch. But when I got down there I saw something that just demanded my camera. I wish I had my t4i on me but I had my samsung snap and go with me. This is what I took.

I wish I would have taken my other camera down because I could then tell everyone what I did to get this shot. So instead I will give some tips to recreate this shot.
    1. Most cameras have a landscape switch. I advised using this because when using this feature you are telling your camera to pay attention to the blues and greens. It enhances them.
    2. Higher f-stop and and use slow shutter speed . You will want to close your aperture a little when using your slow shutter. You want a lot of light to come in but not so much that you will kill the picture. Give the camera enough time to soak in the scene.
    3. ISO: It is important to pay attention to having the right ISO. If your ISO is too high it will cause noise in your picture. I always try to shoot in the lowest ISO possible but don't be afraid of using it, it can enhance your picture if used correctly.
I hope you are enjoying you day and hopefully I will have some interesting pictures for tomorrow.

    Changing the game

    Welcome to my Lair

    Changing up a bit tonight

Normally I would give everyone a picture of something but tonight I wanted to give out an experiment I tried. I don't have a camcorder that can shoot a thousand frames a second. But I still wanted to get  a slow motion effect. I took my t4i and programmed it to shoot 60 fps. Then using final cut I slowed down the to around 400 frames a second. I took my camera and gave it a shutter speed of 2000, my f-stop was at 4 and my ISO was at 3200. What I found was a lot of noise in my picture. I need to reduce my shutter speed to 1000 and maybe re-adjust my ISO to 1600. This would reduce my noise a lot though I am not sure what to do about the fluid movement. This picture is still a little choppy. Though for my second time its not so bad. So enjoy the noiseless moving pictures that is in front of you.

Maybe I will come back and try this again at another time. I need to get back to my editing.
